Registration for after-school Quran education classes

This program is a sequence consisting of two courses: "Quran Reading I" and "Quran Reading II".
Each course lasts for 12 weeks (3 months per course, a total of 6 months for the two courses). Upon completing both courses, students are expected to be able to read the Quran.

The program aims to teach Quran reading in a setting that minimizes student stress. Students will not be given home works---all study activities are completed during class time. Students may be encouraged to integrate practicing what they learn in class with their daily lives at home (e.g., to try reciting during prayers at home), but they will not be required to spend extra study time at home in the form of take-home assignments or homework.

Quran Reading I
Quran Reading I is for students who are beginners, including those who may not know any of the Arabic letters. Upon completing this course, students are expected to acquire the necessary basics to read the Quran, such as: identifying all the letters and sounding them correctly, identifying vowels, and knowing some basic tajweed rules.

We will provide students with tablets and software packages to support the teaching. This helps students to have the opportunity to learn the sounds from professional readers, practice listening, record their own sounds, and replay them, etc.

Quran Reading II
Quran Reading II is a course for students who know the basic reading rules but need more practice and guidance to refine their reading skills. Quran Reading II is for students who have acquired the skills that are expected from the course Quran Reading I (see above). Thus, students who wish to enroll in Quran Reading II must have taken Quran Reading I or must demonstrate that they have the reading skills expected from completing the course Quran Reading I (through a placement test).
